History of Nike
Founded in 1964 by Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight as "Blue Ribbon Sports", Nike began as a distributor for the Japanese sports brand Onitsuka Tiger (now known as ASICS). The company's first store opened in California in 1966.
In 1971, Nike launched its first in-house shoe line, designed by Bowerman, called "Nike" - named after the Greek goddess of victory. The iconic "Swoosh" logo, designed by student Carolyn Davidson, was introduced in 1971 and quickly became a symbol of American culture.
In the 1980s, Nike grew rapidly, thanks in part to sponsoring athletes such as Michael Jordan, who launched the Air Jordan line in 1985, and athletes such as Tiger Woods and Andre Agassi. Nike became a globally recognized brand and dominated the sportswear industry with innovative products and aggressive marketing campaigns.
Over the years, Nike has expanded its portfolio to include a wide range of sportswear, footwear and accessories, and has forged partnerships with major sporting organizations including the NBA, NFL and Olympic committees. Nike remains a leading force in the global sports and lifestyle market, with a focus on innovation, sustainability and community involvement.
Does Nike fit true to size?
Nike shoes generally tend to stay true to size. Of course, the fit may vary depending on the specific model and your individual foot shape. It is advisable to consult a Nike size chart and, if possible, visit SAAKOUK to try on the shoes before making a purchase to ensure you select the correct size for the best fit and comfort.
